It is a formal expression of opinion by the House in the form of a declaration of opinion, or recommendation or recording of approval or disapproval by the House on an act or policy of the government. Government resolutions are moved by ministers for obtaining the sanction or opinion of the house on an important matter of policy or a serious situation. A member may move a resolution to draw the attention of the House and the government to a particular problem.
