The first hour of every sitting of the Lok Sabha is called the question hour when members question the government on policy and administration. For starred questions, answers are provided orally in the house and supplementary questions can be asked. In the case of unstarred questions, only a written answer is provided and no supplementary questions can be asked. The ministry is given 10 days’ notice to prepare answers.
